Day 2
Itinerary: Fiskardo (Kefalonia) - Aphales (Ithaca) (go to the map)
Paddling Distance: 4-5 nautical miles
This is a relaxing day as we try to get our body progressively used to paddling.
We launch from the picturesque village of Fiskardo and we paddle about 4-5 miles to Aphales, a bay with a complex of isolated beaches in north Ithaka with white sand and turquoise waters. The place here is ideal for snorkelling as it offers beautiful underwater rock formations and rich mediterranean water life. We have plenty of time to enjoy the sea and the scenery.
Here, we set our camp under the stars and prepare our tasteful bbq!

Day 3
Itinerary: Aphales - Papanicolis cave (Meganisi) - Sivota (Lefkada) (go to the map)
Paddling Distance: 9 nautical miles
This day starts early in the morning. We transfer with our support boat to the islet of Arkoudi (4 miles north) and from there we continue paddling towards 'Papanicolis' cave in the island of Meganisi. The cave was used by the greek submarine 'Papanicolis' during the war times as a natural resort. We land in the sandy beach inside the cave where we have a swimming and lunch break.
From there, we paddle to the coast of Lefkada and end up in Sivota, a tranquille, small yachting port at the end of a beautiful one mile long fjord.
We have our dinner in a traditional local tavern and overnight in very nice appartments with a superb view over the whole bay.

Day 4
Itinerary: Sivota - Thilia (Meganisi) (go to the map)
Paddling Distance: 6 nautical miles
It is a relaxed morning in the village of Sivota. Later, we kayak in the beautiful straight between Lefkada and Meganisi, towards the little islet of Thilia, just off Meganisi.
This is our camping spot for tonight. We prepare the bbq and enjoy the night sky...

Day 5
Itinerary: Thilia - Skorpios - Spartahori (Meganisi) (go to the map)
Paddling Distance: 8 nautical miles
We kayak to Skorpios, the famous Onassis' island. We circumnavigate it admiring its beauty, a combination of wild and lush mediterranean forest and equisitely manicured gardens. After a stop there, we continue kayaking and reach the nearby Spartahori, another picturesque yachting stop.
After settling in an organized campground, we go for a hike in the village. It is a very traditional village full of pictures from the past. It is the original Greece, untouched by the time...
We have our dinner in a local tavern literally by the sea.

Day 6
Itinerary: Spartahori - Kalamos (go to the map)
Paddling Distance: 13 nautical miles
We paddle along the lacy coast of north Meganisi. After a short stop for swimming we set off for a 5-mile crossing to Kalamos.
We paddle along the beautiful, forested (mediterranean pine) north coast of Kalamos. We land in a beautiful pebble beach with crystal clear waters.
After seting our camp we hike to the small village of Kalamos where we have our dinner.

Day 7
Itinerary: Kalamos - Kastos - Atokos - Kioni (Ithaca) (go to the map)
Paddling Distance: 12 nautical miles
After our early morning swimming, we start paddling to Kastos, another little island one mile off Kalamos. We approach its north part and we paddle along its east coast with the impressive layered rock formations. We stop for a visit in the remote and lonely little village of the island for a typical greek iced coffee.
After a swimming and lunch stop, we paddle to Atokos, a 5-mile crosssing. Atokos, is a beautiful uninhabited islet with turquoise waters.
We get transered with support boat to the picturesque fishing village of Kioni. There, we relax walking around the little village and enjoy our dinner in a tavern by the sea. We overnight in very nice appartments.

Day 8
Itinerary: Ithaca day (go to the map)
Paddling Distance: no paddling today
Today it is the Ithaca day. We take a break from paddling and enjoy the beauties of the island. Visit to the Odysseus' museum as well as short hikes and visit of places with astonishing views are some of our activities today.

Day 9
Itinerary: Kioni - Fiskardo (go to the map)
Paddling Distance: 10 nautical miles
We paddle along the north coast of Ithaki towards Fiskardo. In the way, we can do a stop for some nice cliff jumping in the deep and crystal clear waters.
We enter the peaceful and beautiful Fiskardo bay, where we started our trip from.
Our bus takes us to our base in south Kefalonia. On the way, we stop in one of Kefalonia's highlights, the picturesque peninsula of Assos. It is a magnificent fishing village located in the isthmus of Assos peninsula. The cypress trees and pines that cover the surrounding hills, the impressive limestone cliffs and the perimetric fortress on the peninsula, create a breathtaking scenery with a lot of contrasts.
There, we stop for a hike to the fortress. The landscape and views are amazing!
We overnight in the same nice appartments where we stayed the arrival day.
